Organisation Development focuses on leveraging the understanding and intelligence of human resources to scale levels of performance that are not present. Hence to understand the nature of scaling required certain activities are undertaken. Here, I am talking about a few of those activities.
For Example- Suppose you are interested to introduce a service in the market that helps a customer wash clothes faster and without much hassles. For this what we need is to understand a mechanism that can easily clean the fabric and release dirt without much hand rubbing of the cloth. Just pour the mixture of powder in the water and the rest is done all by itself. So, the human resources required would be needed to know about the science of soap solutions and their washing capabilities. Not only that we also need to know the strength of the fabric that it can withstand the soap solution. If innovatively this is used then it will reveal the focus of leveraging understanding a unique product that is strong at pulling out dirt and other pollutants within seconds of putting in water. Organisation development happens when to make this idea practicable the inhouse development team tests with different formulae of soap solutions and their reaction time in contrast with the fabric material to withstand the effect of the soap solutions. This experimenting with different soap solutions is because there is a lot of ideation going on in the teams. The process of ideation is central to organization development and focus on scaling to improve the capabilities of the team members. Development starts here and needs to be carried forward from here by decentralization of the teams and team members. And asking them to individually come up with suggestions that make up a start to end story of marketable success. Thus they are now having individual autonomy to give a suggestion that could be a success story based on the marketable success of the idea process. The steps to Organisation Development are discussed next to keep the ventilation open for some time......
